FOODPRINT project on the WEBINAR of EU-MERCI / H2020 «Energy-saving implementations in industries: Funding, proposals, initiatives and tools»

SEVT, in the context of information exchange with other similar projects, participated, with the FOODPRINT project, in the 1st Webinar of the EU - MERCI project, which aims to support, in a coordinated way, the growth of energy efficiency in industry processes. It will develop methods and tools for assisting EU industry in the effective implementation of energy efficiency improvements and in the monitoring of the energy savings, in application of the 2012/27/EU Directive.

The Webinar was organized by CRES in collaboration with SEVT on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 and aimed at disseminating methods for improving energy efficiency in industry  and addressed to industries, energy service providers, energy managers and other stakeholders on energy saving / energy efficiency issues. The Webinar was eventually attended by 54 people, from various organizations.

In the webinar have been presented useful tools for industries and other stakeholders to implement interventions that will lead to efficient use of energy and, consequently, to energy savings in their production process.

Due to the relevance of the two projects, SEVT participated in the Webinar with 2 presentations: The first was delivered by Ms. V. Papadimitriou and related to the actions of SEVT for Sustainable Development and the 2nd was given by Dr. F. Salta, where she presented the FOODPRINT software tool that will enable the reliable determination & evaluation of the CF.

EU-MERCI will be completed in January 2018 and further synergies between the two projects will be developed.

The project is implemented in Greece & Italy.

The main objective of the LIFE FOODPRINT project is to identify, quantify and implement measures to reduce, the carbon footprint (CF) of the pastry and flour food industry sector along the supply chain while increasing competitiveness through the development of an innovative software tool.
