FOOD EXPO GREECE is the leading regional international Food & Beverage Exhibition in South-eastern Europe which is organized since 2013 under the auspices of SEVT. In Food Expo Greece 2017 SEVT organized the following activities for the FOODPRINT project:

Visibility of the Project

The FOODPRINT project was highlighted at SEVT 2 exhibition booths and there was a huge interest form the visitors to get more information about it and its results. All the communication material (brochures & newsletters) of the project were distributed and information were provided to the visitors.

Info-event for the project

An info-event for the European FOODPRINT project, took place on March, 18th 2017, in which the basic results of the project, the monitoring tool as well as the initiatives of the project partner was presented and discussed the challenges and prospects for the Food Industry on environmental issues. The info-event started with the basic information for the project and the activities of SEVT on environmental issues, followed by the presentation of the challenges and prospects for the Food Industry. After that, the benefits and prospects of JOTIS SA from the participation to the project were presented, as well as the main project deliverable, the FoodPrint Tool. The event ended with AKTINA’s initiatives to achieve a neutral carbon balance.

The project is implemented in Greece & Italy.

Objective

The main objective of the LIFE FOODPRINT project is to identify, quantify and implement measures to reduce, the carbon footprint (CF) of the pastry and flour food industry sector along the supply chain while increasing competitiveness through the development of an innovative software tool.
